Kentokyo Mini Con coming to Lexington Green

By Casey VazquezkentokyominiconWEB

Anime, short for Japanese animation, includes much more than just animation. It has its own subculture of fans. Bluegrass Otaku (BGO) is home to Lexington’s anime, manga, and gaming community. The group holds monthly anime viewing and gaming events to bring together fans. In 2012, Bluegrass Otaku (BGO) was able to bring over 200 people to its mini anime convention at Joseph-Beth bookstore in Lexington Green. This year the Kentokyo mini con, which will be held on Saturday, April 27 at Joseph-Beth, is expected to host even more attendees. Like its 2012 version, the convention was planned and organized by members of BGO who share an unconditional love for anime and everything that comes with it. The event will be free and open to the public. Continue reading
